Keynotes from the IB Asia Pacific Conference, Macau 2015

I recently used Adobe Presenter to create this movie file for a RoseMeet at my school. RoseMeet is our ‘in school’ answer to TeachMeet. Teachers coming together to share and learn in their own time, so as to improve our teaching practice. I knew I could not attend that afternoon, so I recorded this a few days previously. It uses images I took at the conference that were drawn as the keynotes Julia Gillard and Dr Michael Anderson spoke.

Both the keynotes messages were excellent, they spoke of the need for creativity and the need for change. Nothing new there really. Reflecting on them while also reading stories of NAPLAN and SATS testing makes me wonder when and if any of the people in power will make the hard decisions to change schooling to reflect these vital needs.
